The design for Burdlife seeks to provide an online jewelry store with their first physical space where visitors can engage with each piece of jewelry in real life. While the space provides a material presence, the experience remains playful and dreamlike. Rounded displays float on the surface of the floor, providing flexibility and ephemerality as soft tones and surfaces provide a sense of whimsy. Working within a limited budget, the design relies primarily on color to provide a unique atmosphere. The light pink of the walls and ceiling reflect off of a painted concrete floor, immersing visitors in a soft glow. Toward the back of the space, a pastel green ribbed surface provides contrast in both color and texture. Throughout the space, a matte brass color highlights both the jewelry displays and the exposed structure above.
