Eric Hughes, Assoc. AIA

Eric has considerable experience with custom residential work requiring a high level of design sensitivity. The scale of these projects ranges from graduate and post doc housing for neurological research, to an ecotourism working ranch in Argentina, to a private yoga studio. His civic design experience ranges from large scale park projects to a small community playground. The yoga studio he project managed recently received an AIA design award.

Eric strongly believes in the importance of community and seeks opportunities for architecture to be an agent of redemption and restoration. He recently had the opportunity to live in Nicaragua while establishing a library in a small fishing village. His current goal is to establish community housing for patients receiving cancer treatment.

A native small town Cornhusker, Eric spent his formative years mutton busting and raising buffalo (ask for photos) before receiving a Bachelor of Science in Design at University of Nebraska Lincoln. He received his Master of Architecture from Rice University. After calling Houston home for the past eight years he is now nearly finished mourning the loss of the Fall and Winter seasons.
