To Dwell: An Architectural Film Festival

To Dwell: An Architectural Film Festival

From the earliest days of human civilization, dwelling has been an elemental condition of architectural design and construction. As spaces are inhabited to shelter our lives and everyday objects, residential design continues to evolve within contemporary architectural practices. Through a curated selection of films addressing our relationships with intimate spaces, we are proud to present the 2016 Architecture Film Festival. Please join us as we explore the practice of dwelling-its poetry, theory, satire, romance, and experience-through the following films:

Paloma Houston

We've begun construction on Paloma, a chemical free nail salon set to open this fall at BLVD Place in Houston.

We're also excited for our partnership with HTX Made, who will be building custom, non-toxic furniture pieces here in Houston for the space.

Dwell Photo of the Week

The Delz Residence has been selected as Dwell's Photo of the Week

"Photographer Peter Molick took this photo of a former auto body shop in Houston that’s been converted into a modern residence and studio for an artist and engineer. Working with two aging metal warehouses,Content Architecture replaced the former garage doors with large windows and protected them with a steel canopy. A light well in the center of the residence helps brighten the deep interior and divides the public and private spaces. The smaller neighboring structure—which is connected by a shared patio space—was turned into a guesthouse and studio."

CONTENT is so very pleased that Texas Architect Magazine has decided to feature Casa Lobo in the "Open House" section of the January/February 2016 issue. Erick and Mara have now welcomed little Moises into the home and it has become so much more wonderful than we could have imagined when we started the design. No doubt we are blessed that Mara, also an architect, supported our initial conception wholeheartedly and improved it tenfold with her great taste and a conception of their own!
